Joint Personnel Crack Down on Street Vendors in Kebayoran Baru

Some 70 joint personnel of South Jakarta took firm and immediate action against street vendors and illegal parking in Kebayoran Baru Sub-district. Those joint personnel consisted of Satpol PP, Transportation Sub-agency, Social Sub-agency, and army (TNI)/police, Thursday (3/7).

South Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Nanti Dwi Subekti said the operation was conducted to implement the Orderly Sidewalk Month to commemorate the Satpol PP's 74th Anniversary.
"It is focused on Jalan Senopati Raya and Jalan Sudirman, targeting vehicles and traders who occupy the roads and sidewalks," he expressed, Thursday (3/7).
Street Vendors and Illegal Parking Controlling Held on Jalan Kemang RayaHe explained it refers to Regional Regulation Number 8/2007 on Public Order.
"This is for mutual comfort and security," he explained.
South Jakarta Satpol PP's Civil Service Investigation Section Head, Daniel Soalon added there were 20 street vendors warned.
"We'll continue to intensity this action in all sub-districts spread across South Jakarta to make the city's aesthetics maintained, orderly, neat, and clean," he explained.
South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head, Bernad Octavianus Pasaribu uttered that during the operation, as many as 27 vehicles' tires were flattened.
"We send 20 personnel to crack down on them parked on the roadside. This aims to give them as a deterrent effect," he stated.
